I have loved reading since childhood and am captivated by all aspects of non-fiction books. As well as researching and writing my own books, I help other non-fiction authors at all stages of the publication process from initial conception to finished manuscript. I specialize in military, espionage, and politics but during my newspaper career of almost 25 years, I learned to turn by hand to any subject. I am adept at writing in both American and British English.
Every project is different. If you have an idea for a book, I can help you decide how to get it published. I can help you craft a book proposal. I can advise on structure and language. I can edit and re-write. I can “ghost” a manuscript. I am well-connected within publishing and media in both the United States and the United Kingdom. I particularly enjoy incorporating elements such as cover design, maps, photographs, bibliography, glossary, and notes – some of which can be published online – so that a reader has access to everything they might want. I have been accused of being a completist and plead guilty.
